Ethics of Fake News and Disinformation

Fake news and disinformation have become a major challenge for modern societies. They can influence elections, erode trust in public institutions and distort public debate. This event will examine the ethical questions surrounding misleading information - from the responsibility of traditional media and digital platforms to education, media literacy and the role each individual plays when consuming and sharing content.

Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from ethics, journalism and technology, the programme will explore practical approaches to strengthening media literacy and building a more resilient information culture. The aim is to raise awareness and provide actionable insights for an informed public.

The event begins with a welcome and keynote from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by a practical session on best practices, a panel discussion and an apéro riche from 7:00 pm. The speaker line-up will be announced shortly.

Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is included for Technopark Luzern members upon separate registration. Tickets for non-members cost CHF 75 per person.
